Zara is a popular retail store with over 2,000 stores worldwide and 60 in the UK. We had the opportunity to complete the painting and decorating works for Zara’s flagship store in Battersea Power Station. The store itself was over 4,500 square feet and spread over two floors.
We were awarded this project by Decorga and had an 8-week timeframe outlined in the project schedule. One of the main challenges within the project was completing the decorating work within the original time frame. To guarantee completion on time, we assigned two work teams to the project—one to complete work during the day and an additional team to complete painting work during the night.
Zara wanted many of the store’s key areas to look industrial. For this, our specialist painters and decorators in Battersea applied a micro cement paint finish to various store areas. The resulting finish has given the walls a unique concrete/stone look. In addition, Zara required the ceilings to be painted in a matte emulsion. For the security areas of the store, we applied RFID paint, which enables discreet and tamper-resistant tracking by integrating RFID technology invisibly into surfaces.
Overall, the project was successfully delivered on time, to the highest standard, and within budget.
