We recently painted this magnificent late-Victorian townhouse encompassing five bedrooms across four floors. The painting and decorating work included painting the entrance, hallways, staircases, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
The owner was keen to transform the interior of this historic property into a modern living space. With a careful selection of colours, attention to detail, and high-quality materials, we have successfully created an interior that seamlessly blends the old with the new.
The entrance hall retains much of the pretty period detailing. The reception room is at the left of the entrance hall – painted in white and complete with modern furniture and a skylight that adds plenty of light to the space. Further down the hall, you enter the open-plan kitchen, which is similarly painted in white, creating a continuous flow on the ground floor.
Upstairs, the use of neutral paint colours continues in each of the four bedrooms, and the combination of whites, greys, and greens brings a sense of tranquillity and elegance to each room. This palette allows the unique features of Victorian architecture to shine while providing a backdrop for modern furnishings and decor.
The combination of modern finishes, the preservation of original detailing, and the thoughtfully chosen colour palette have helped transform this house into a remarkable space.
