We recently painted this lovely four-storey townhouse on Kennington Lane. The home was spacious, totalling over 2,400 sq ft in space.
The owners contacted us to paint the entire interior of the home. The job involved painting and decorating the entrance, hallways, bedrooms, living room, and kitchen.
The plan was to create a modern feel inside the home. At the same time, they wanted the paintwork to highlight the period features. Essentially, it was a blend of the old with the new.
We spent some time with the owners, going back and forth on different paint colour schemes. And eventually, they decided to use a neutral colour palette throughout the home. The idea was to create a bright look balanced by the beautiful overhead cornice. For this, we sourced all of the paints from Farrow & Ball – including some specifically low-VOC paint for the bedrooms so they were safe to sleep in, the same day we finished painting.
The entrance consists of two-tone walls painted in Skimming Stone and Strong White. Overhead, simple yet elegant cornice has been maintained to set the tone for the space.
To the left of the entrance is the open-plan kitchen and dining area. Our team painted the walls in Strong White to seamlessly merge with the entry hall. In these rooms, there is a more intricate cornice, accentuated by tasteful dashes of Mere Green around the pre-existing door frames.
The living room is on the first floor, where a similar colour scheme continues. With the walls painted in Strong White, ornate cornice work overhead, and subtle touches of Mere Green, there is a lovely flow from one floor to the next. However, the real focus of this room is the stunning feature wall covered with floral wallpaper.
On the lower ground, second and third floors are bedrooms. The colour palette of the bedrooms ranges from serene neutral tones of Skimming Stone to the allure of floral wallpapers echoing the living room’s grace.
