Fawnbrake Avenue, Brixton

Property Size: 933 SF

Our painters and decorators in Brixton recently painted a beautiful two-bedroom apartment located on Fawnbrake Avenue in Brixton.

The flat occupies the first floor of a grand Edwardian house. As a result, it benefits from some lovely period features, including intricate cornicing, high ceilings, and original fireplaces.

The painting and decorating job involved painting the entrance, living room, kitchen, and bedrooms.

The owner was keen to create a bright look. After we provided some free painting and decorating advice, he decided to use a neutral colour palette throughout the home to help maximise how big the space feels.

As you enter the apartment, you enter the entrance hall, which leads to the inviting living room.

The living room was the trickiest room to paint. That’s because the owner attempted to paint the room himself but accidentally used exterior paint on the interior. The result was heavily cracked walls, which required extra preparation work and attention to detail when it came to painting.

Now, the walls of the living room are painted in a soft and warm shade called ‘Stone Pale Warm’ by Little Greene. The fixed shelving in the room is highlighted with a striking yellow colour called Yellow 002 by ‘Lick,’ adding a relaxed touch to the space.

The kitchen is conveniently connected to the living room and is painted in a pleasant ‘Duck Egg’ blue colour by Farrow & Ball. Moving upstairs, both bedrooms have a darker colour scheme to create a cosy and intimate ambience. The first bedroom is adorned with an atmospheric colour called ‘Silt’ by Little Greene. The second bedroom features a stylish monochrome colour scheme, with the ceiling painted in a shade called ‘Red Earth’ by Farrow & Ball.
