We painted this late-Victorian townhouse on Cannon Place in Hampstead. The project involved painting and decorating the entrance, living room, dining room, hallways, kitchen, and bedrooms.
The house, arranged over five floors, encompasses over 2,500 sq ft, with five bedrooms. The owners wanted to refresh the home and give the interior a new lease of life.
The grand entrance sets the tone for the property through the high ceilings, oak floorboards, and dentil cornicing. The property entrance leads directly to the 30ft living room, complete with high ceilings, a detailed cornice, and carefully painted walls – giving the room a warm and inviting look. The living room staircase leads to the downstairs kitchen, similarly finished with neutrally coloured walls. The first, second, and third floors contain all five bedrooms – each painted in ‘Elephants Breath’ and ‘Mouse’s Back’ by Farrow & Ball to match the colour scheme on the ground floor and create a sense of flow in the property.
The result is a remarkable combination of period features, a warm colour palette, and stylish furniture.
