Cannon Place, Hampstead

Property Size: 2,842 SF

Our painters and decorators in Hampstead painted this lovely late-Victorian townhouse on Cannon Place in Hampstead. The house was very spacious – with over 2,500 sq ft of space and over five floors.

The painting and decorating job involved painting the entrance, living room, dining room, hallways, kitchen, and five bedrooms.

When the owners contacted our painters, they were keen to refresh the homes. The goal was to create an elegant look in the space. We suggested using a handful of neutral paint colours from Farrow & Ball to achieve this look. The thinking behind it was that it would complement the lovely period features of the property (such as the high ceilings and cornice) to create a timeless look.

We painted the living room in Oxford Stone for the walls of the living room. I really love this colour as it gives the living room walls a warm and rich feel. Also, we used Etruscan Red for an accent wall above the fireplace. The result is that it breaks up the rooms and creates a focal point for the space. The colour scheme used here continues to the open-plan kitchen, giving the home a warm and inviting look.

We painted all five bedrooms in the home. We kept the colour scheme the same for all the rooms, combining ‘Elephants Breath’ and ‘Mouse’s Back’ by Farrow & Ball. The result creates a sense of flow throughout the space. The walls of the bedrooms were in poor condition. So, our painters spent time preparing the surfaces by filling and sanding the walls. After preparing the surfaces, our team cut in the walls first and then rolled them for a flawless finish.
